For many, the Orchestra’s performance at London’s venerable BBC Proms will be the highlight of the tour.  It will mark the Minnesota Orchestra’s debut at the 111 year old festival known for its unique, informal atmosphere, where sections of Royal Albert Hall are still reserved for “prommers”, audience members who stand and walk about during the concert.  The performance will be broadcast live in England by BBC radio and TV, and live in Minnesota on Classical Minnesota Public Radio (KSJN 99.5 FM) on August 24 at 1:30p local time, and rebroadcast on Monday, September 4 at 8 p.m. (click here to listen).
