Street Musician Plays Sibelius

The Helsinki Festival invites one violinst and one orchestra each year to perform the Sibelius Violin Concerto. This year that violinist was Viktoria Mullova and the orchestra was Minnesota.  Jean Sibelius is a national hero of epic proportions in Finland.  His music gave voice to a nation and is embraced by musicians of all levels.  Watch this movie to hear a young street musician performing for listeners at the Kauppatori the same concerto performed later that evening onstage at Finlandia Hall. Quicktime 2MB.
